That's the thing, I, along with a majority of other (true) Metal fans, really don't see it as a form of Metal..

but that's just you're opinion, like ive said you cant determine what is and isnt metal so deal with that ok. people consider bands they want as metal, if they think nu metal is metal then they could write about it in a metal section ok? you cant have a go at them just because you don't like it or respect it or whatever

didnt i talk about this with u before, i agree with metta on this and aways will. nu metal shoudl be kept complelty seprate form real metal. Nu metal is the kids answer to it thuss if people wants a nu metal forum then we would have to have it serprate form everything else. and keep the true metal by it self, like ti should be

So's a nu metal forum too, not as much but if they were separate it would save a lot of shit.

i guess but it could be like "nu-metal" and then like either "metal" or "other metal" because i think saying 'true metal' is demeaning other people's tastes which isnt fair

You could say that, but 'True metal' is now just another media term (look in kerrang, it's being used there more and more). So why not have seperate forums for all types of guitar (or other forms) of music.

Punk/ska
Nu Metal
Extreme (Black/death/'noisecore'/truemetal)
Emo/post-hardcore

To name but a few, it works for kerrang.

That's actually calmed down, in fact I was jus in nu-metal and it's mostly internal arguments between forum regulars. Most 'true' people don't even bother going in there to flame, waste of time......

I think a nu metal forum would be good as long as certain elitests can put a leash on themselves and let that forum be and stick to their own!

you could just add a nu metal forum, but i still think it will provoke arguements having a 'true metal' forum and it's unnecessary when you can clearly have it as other things!

Yeah, I think the Black/Death should be changed to Extreme Metal and have genres listed such as Black/Death/Thrash/Grindcore etc

yeah that'd be fine as it's being specific in the genres and not acting well stuck up to other genres

I'd let it be, to be honest I can't see the point in flaming nu metal for totally no reason. I know I post a lot about my dislike of it, but thats me expressing my opinion. Not me doing 'All you nu mettallers are fagg0ts hurhurhur'

Well I wouldn't go in the forum to flame members, no reason to. I just don't want the Black/Death forum to just be classed as a 'Metal' forum, because the discussion of True Metal bands would be overloaded by the discussion of false bands.

ok i take it false metal means nu metal yeh? now dont get me wrong but i know alot of people including myself who own 'numetal' records, but that dusnt mean they primarily listen to it, they also own alot of less known underground thrash and death albums too. like myself im not claimin to be a metal king or anything tho im just sayin its just another genre. i hate rap rock think its poo but some of the bands that have been classed as 'nu' are pretty gd. dont kill me. oh and linkin park papa roach n stuff i dont like. dont kill me.

see that's why it's so bad, you had to say 'dont kill me' when admitting you listened to nu metal, i dont know anybody who doesnt like at least one nu metal band or song, i mean there might be the odd one appealing to you. what i dont get is what nu/'false' metal is,, i always thought it was rap metal, but then everyone calsses liek disturbed, korn etc as nu metal, and they dont rap? so it confsues me now..

good theory :thumb: which is why people should discriminate against certain genres

yeah exactly, people need to learn to respect all music and everyone's own opinions, you shouldnt judge people by your own standards

i think there would be more of a demand for something like a nu-metal forum, or a indie forum, than an extreme metal one. extreme metal is all well and good, just not too many people are into it.
