well my eeepc has started to die.. so i'm gonna sell it on ebay or something...

in the mean time i got all excited and decided to buy something similiar in spec and price.. the newer eeepc looks pretty cool but i'm not sure on the build quality so i've bought a HP2133 despite the rubbish reviews.. (the £180 ebuyer price persuaded me)

i've wacked some ram in to make it 2GB and installed Ubunutu 8.10 (from a bootable ubuntu usb stick i made) and it's running well sweet :) and the res is 1280 x 768!!! well good for a tiny screen and the build is amazing compared to the eee.

looooooads better :D

Yeah the 1st gen EEE is looking pretty dated now compared to the new EEEs and all the other manufacturers copycat netbooks. It's the price you pay for buying a 1st gen model of anything unfortunately.
