Scouting for Girls

Post by chippy » 25 Jul 2008, 08:43

Has no-one noticed that every song is the same, they all have virtually the same chord patterns and all open with:

<chord stab>
<gap with crap vocal>
<chord stab>
<gap with crap vocal>
<chord stab>
<gap with crap vocal>
<chord stab>
<gap with crap vocal>

How long can they get away with this for?

Until the musically retarded youth move on to some other band that has a bigger marketing budget?

From what I've heard, all the lyrics seem to be based around seeing a girl from across the room and being afraid to approach her.

This band, along with The Ting Tings from the other thread, Elliot Minor and The Metros should all get office jobs and stay the fuck away from my hearing capabilties. Anyone else have a HUGE dislike for The Metros as I do? Their songs remind of something someone would write for their Music GCSE composition. Word.

people seem to be so obsessed with bands that sound 'different' these days. they forget to check if they actually sound good or not.

Scouting for girls are cunts.
Well I could call out when the going gets tough
The things that we learned are no longer enough
No language just sound is all we need know
To synchronize love to the beat of the show

the klaxons aren't that bad at all, and certainly don't deserve to be lumped in with the ting tings. new indie hype? that's Scouting for Girls, The Wombats, One Night Only etc. All truly, truly terrible bands.

'You only like it because it's different' is such a lazy argument and total bollocks if you ask me. You can not honestly believe that people think like that with regard to the music they listen to? It's so shallow.
