The Kooks.

I bought their album yesterday and it's really catchy and up beat in my opinion. What does everyone else think?

Glad you say they're good live, because they're playing at Reading this year and I'd be pretty dissapointed if they were crap.

I got their album for my birthday, it's wonderful.

Also, the "cool kids" at school pretty much constantly sing Naive during free periods. It gets irritating as they only know three (ish) lines.

Yeah, it's a shame that they're quite popular now. (Not for them obviously). However it just means I'll be sick of hearing all the singles soon after getting radio airplay 100000000000000000000000000 times a day.

What's not to like, apart from a bit of a rubbish name?

my missus loves them, there's a few good solid catchy harmless songs on their album. The singer gets on my fucking nerves though.

i think they're watered down generic rubbish. but i've only heard one song, and it might just be because some fucking prick-label has stuck stickers all over my uni building, and i hate that.

I must say I've become a lot more tolerant with my music recently and found myself able to like things just because they're nice catchy songs rather than everything having to be ridiculously tech, or clever, or headfucking all the time.

I agree.

But I don't know what to think of that singer's voice. I got played a couple of songs about a week ago. It's like a posh/whiney boy bnd singer is trying to do a more rough indie style vocal. I couldn't decide if it worked.

Think there's a big La's influence. I thought they were from Liverpool when I heard sofa song ages ago! I think it sounds good.

I've never really strongly liked or disliked them to be honest. And I still can't decide if I think the singers voice is alright or dead annoying.

I don't think I'd describe the album as 'wonderful' anymore (or even remember having it...:S) but they're still pretty good. Catchy stuff, that's not completely inept is always nice.

Tom's right about his voice though, it's dead weird. Still can't decide whether I like it, but I don't hate it.

I like them (both albums) cuz they have songs which stick in your head, and don't sound like the many many many generic tossing indie bands that you hear 24/7 on the radio which leave you asking..."which generic indie band was that?".

There are some cool sing along tracks on their albums.

I like.
