How many people are still here?

How many people actually still use this forum? I miss it. It used to be a great distraction from work and I must have spent hours on here at Uni. I actually wrote an essay about this place that got me a first in my second year at uni as the perfect example of an online community. I think Kev needs t...

Re: GREAT NEWBURY PUB CRAWL

The NWN is, in theory, an unbiased newspaper of record. The story would not be supportive or against the idea - merely publish an account of what happened or what was to happen For the sake of balance they might have to dig out some quack to give the token trueism "booze is bad" warning (a...

Re: GREAT NEWBURY PUB CRAWL

Goodo - well that's about 20 in already.

I'm going to change the date to the first weekend in August so people have a bit more money at their fingertips.

Still need to get the pubs on board.

GREAT NEWBURY PUB CRAWL

So here's my master plan. Been done before on this scale? I haven't confirmed with pubs yet, this is just the format. it'll be a facebook group in the next week and will get a plug in NWN before hand....... Some say it can’t be done. Physicians say it is beyond the capability of the human body. Fi...

I'm the only person I know who absolutely loves that album.

I bought it at a discount when I worked at Our Price.

How they quickly fell from grace - shame. Singer's other project Septembre is a load of gash though. I also have their EP.

Re: worst music you own.

In my youth I once bought an edition of Bonkers Happy Hardcore.

I've since binned it, but the worst thing still to dwell in my collection is probably the new guns and roses album. Seriously.

Re: What's My Age Again?

I'm genuinely excited by this. I'm not one to shun the bands I grew up on - ignoring the gnawing cynicism in the back of my head. I accidentally drove into the middle of the "Save the Tamils" protest in London last weekend and was forced to sit in my car while angry protestors walked aroun...

Re: New Snare advise please.

Maybe you should just buy this.....save yourself the hassle (because the snare already sounds amazing) and get the rest of a nice kit as well.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORK-PIE-CUSTOM-M ... 240%3A1318

Oh forgot to say - if you want a good rock sound dont get a snare under 7 inches deep.

Re: New Snare advise please.

You could probably get a second hand vented OCDP for £300. Get one with as many plies as you can afford - put an evans power centre top dot batter head on it, put a matrix 40 strand snare wire on it, tune top head high and bottom head on the slack side of natural and whack it hard with a heavyish s...

Re: heartburn

I concur that burping does seem to temporarily help heartburn but Rennies taste like ass so i'd stick with good ol' gaviscon.

Milk is a retarded thing to drink to stem heartburn as it's mostly fatty acids that will just make it worse.

I quit Fox Cubs a couple of months ago and had just bought a brand new kit before I decided to call it a day. After a long deliberation and the fact that it's just sat in its hard cases for two months i've decided to sell it. It's had no expense spared on making it top notch for recording and comes ...

I've had heartburn for about 4 years now on and off. It got so bad for a while that I had to take prescription strength tablets from docs. I smoke - which is the worst thing for it. I eat fatty foods - pretty bad. I eat too fast and dont chew my food properly - defnitiely bad for it And have develop...
